A Rich Heritage
The City of Baytown, incorporated in 1948, is a diverse town with a rich history. This area was important long before the local petrochemical industry put it on the map. The Karankawa Indians settled here along the Trinity River, and later, many battles were fought around and near the town.

The Baytown Historical Museum hosts a large collection of documents and exhibits from the area’s past.
 
Bicentennial Park is a favorite site for events in Baytown.
