The San Jacinto Monument sits on the site of the famous Battle of San Jacinto, which bought Texas its independence from Mexico. The 604-foot-tall monument, which is home to the San Jacinto Museum of History, looks over the battlefield. The battleship Texas is docked nearby. Commissioned in 1914, it participated in both World War I and World War II. Click below to go to the official site of the San Jacinto Monument and Battleship Texas.
