Not only is Baytown a gateway to Galveston Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, it’s also a stone’s throw from many other rivers, bays, bayous and lakes. To see wildlife like the cottontail pictured at right, you might visit Armand Bayou Nature Center, which is one of the largest urban nature preserves in the country. For some peaceful fishing, you can visit nearby Trinity River or San Jacinto River. If recreational boating is your style, you can put your boat in at several places in Baytown, including Bayland Marina. To find out more, click the links at left.
