The Wetlands Center wouldn’t be what it is today without the essential support provided by its volunteers, partners and sponsors. Together, each of these groups has poured time, money and experience into helping the Wetlands Center improve its programs and facilities.

Partners
Two of the Wetlands Center’s most vital partners are Lee College and Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District (GCCISD). Together, they help further the mission of the Wetlands Center through their funding and cooperation. GCCISD works with the Wetlands Center on the Wetlands Ecology Program for fifth-graders and other activities, and Lee College also works with the Wetlands Center in a variety of ventures.

Sponsors
Local businesses and civic groups also are critical supporters of the Wetlands Center. Companies like ExxonMobil, Chevron Phillips and Bayer have provided key financial backing and support for many of the Wetlands Center’s educational activities and programs. So have groups like the Rotary Club.

Volunteers  
In many ways, volunteers are the backbone of the Wetlands Center’s activities. Without them, many of the programs simply wouldn’t be possible. During the school year, volunteers help teach the Wetlands Ecology Program, and they also help out with the Wade into Wetlands Summer Science Camp. In fact, volunteers assist with just about everything, from answering phones to carpentry!

Volunteer training is offered several times a year, and often includes notable speakers in the field of wetlands conservation. Volunteer opportunities are available in many different areas.
